“What is the light doing to your picture?” Parents and volunteers prompted our students with probing questions to take a closer look into the details of the effects of light and shadows. Kids love to play and learn with shadows. We did experiments about light refraction and light reflection. Our night was full of open ended exploration, inquiry and play. And the lessons that were introduced tonight can be expanded at home through literature. Each family left with books to continue learning about the sun and the science of light. There are so many fun ways to play and learn with our shadows because our imaginations are an endless source of inspiration.
