Rene from Rogers Garden Bullock Elementary

“Circle those tails for me,” a Soar volunteer at the South Florida Museum smiles at 5-year-old Rogers Garden Bullock student, Rene. Rene and his mother attended Soar in 4 last year while he was in VPK and has not yet missed a Soar night as a kindergartner. “He just loves it so much, so we keep coming back.” They especially enjoy the activities that can be done together. “He learns something new every time,” Mom says as Rene excitedly tells the Soar volunteer that shark’s teeth are “Those things that fish chomp up their food with!”

Having attended as a pre-kindergarten student, Rene and his mother return every month to learn new activities that support his learning in the classroom. “He just loves it so much, so we keep coming back.” They especially enjoy the activities they complete together.
