This workshop will explore:

  • Understanding the prevalence of trauma and how traumatic events affect children
  • Becoming self-aware of the reasons for your students’ behaviors and emotions
  • Strategies for Self-Care
  • Exploring emotional vocabulary through Drama, Language and Visual Arts
  • Sensory awareness, breathing and yoga
  • Touring The Ringling

11:30 – 12:30 Sensory Yoga with Soul to Soul

12:30 – 1:30 Touring The Ringling

Teachers will receive FREE materials for their classrooms, Creating a Trauma Sensitive Classroom Guide by ASCD and The Dot by Peter Reynolds.

We will be practicing yoga and walking – wear comfortable and loose fitting clothing.
