Mom brought her young daughter, 2 years and 4 months, who attends Church on the Cross to Soar in 4 in order to watch her child’s progress. Mom works at Headstart and heard about Soar in 4 for the first time in January; “I want to watch how she interacts with others and see which activities she understands so that I can have an idea of what her interests are –does she like dance? Music? Art?” mom explained while observing. “This gives me an opportunity to observe through play; she already knows her ABC’s and will be enrolled in a 3 year old classroom soon. I do not want her learning momentum to stop. I want to keep her engaged.” Soar in 4 connects families to classroom learning.
