What are StoryBook Trails?
Story Book Trails are a new way to improve literacy and reading confidence in students. Pages of a book are turned into panels for families to practice reading, learn literacy tips and get exercise. Audio is provided in English and Spanish. Our first installation in Lincoln Park was a collaboration between Soar in 4, Manatee County Government, I AM Yes and Manatee Education Foundation.
The Mermaid With No Tail
Take a walk through an inspiring story at the Jessica Long Storybook Trail at John Marble Recreation Center in Bradenton. Featuring The Mermaid with No Tail, written by Paralympic swimming champion Jessica Long, the trail brings her uplifting story of perseverance, courage, and believing in yourself to life through engaging story panels along the walking path. It’s a fun, interactive experience for children and families that combines reading, movement, and inspiration—all while celebrating the incredible journey of a champion who has inspired people around the world.
