Soar in 4 is a free parenting program that promotes literacy. We activate parents to be their child's first literacy teacher. Parents learn how to read to their child, introduce rich new vocabulary, skills, materials and connections to community resources to help support their child's literacy at home and be kindergarten ready. Dr. Halpin then shared some data demonsttrating many of the challenges faced during the early years of a child's development. Complex trauma can seriously disrupt child development. This may include relationships, bonding, and foundational development in the areas of language, academics, and social skills.
